  • Our Second point, the old paint needs to be scrapped away and re-primed to make sure that the new paint will adhere to the old paint / primer.
    • If this step is missed by another contractor, and they just repaint your house with the old paint cracking and peeling, the new paint will not do its job and seal your house from the elements; Thus wasting the overall purpose of repainting your house.
    • This may sound elementary, but these steps are missed on a regular basis if you don’t select the right painting contractor.
  • Third and one of the most important, is making sure that all of the cracks in the caulking gets repaired and re-caulked. This is the most important around the corners of your house and around the windows. You will notice if you walk around your house, that the caulking around the windows & sills will typically be cracked / falling apart.
    • If you hire a  painting contractor that skips this step, especially on the second story of your house, your house will not be protected from the elements and moisture will seep into your house and cause water damage. It’s crazy to think that such a simple step could cause so much damage, but it’s extremely vital.
